Regulation of Controlled Drug Substances in SAARC Countries

The global illegal drug trade represents a multi-dimensional
challenge that has implications in the international
community. The South Asian region is the principal trafficking
route for psychotropic drugs, as it is sandwiched between
the Golden Triangle and Golden Crescent, the major global
producers of psychotropic drugs. Sai Pranathi Meda Venkata,
Balamuralidhara V and Mahalakshmy R of JSS College of
Pharmacy give a preview of the contemporary state of the
regulations pertaining to controlled drugs/substances in the
South Asian Association of Regional Corporation (SAARC)
countries with unique attention to Bangladesh, Bhutan,
Maldives and India.
