JOT Automation and Ginolis announce a life science business acquisition

JOT Automation, the leading supplier of test and production solutions, and Ginolis, the manufacturing solutions provider for diagnostic disposables, today announced an agreement under which Ginolis will acquire JOT Automation’s Life Science Division. JOT’s Life Science Division will be merged into Ginolis during the first half of 2015.

The transaction is a win-win for both companies’ customers. It enables us to grow even more customer-centric and accelerates our time-to-market in our core business,” said Mika Kettula, CEO at JOT Automation.
“JOT has successfully grown its customer base. Our customers now include many of the world’s leading consumer electronics companies. We are focusing our efforts on strengthening our test and precision assembly portfolios for the telecom industry, and Ginolis is better positioned to serve global life science clients.”
Teijo Fabritius, CEO at Ginolis said: “Our vision is to provide more effective healthcare for the benefit of patients globally by introducing unique solutions to the diagnostic, life science and medtech industries. Our approach is similar to the one adopted in the electronics industry, known for tremendous productivity.
“By complementing our offering with JOT’s life science product range we come closer to achieving our goal. We aim to be one of the largest suppliers of assembly automation for point-of-care tests and microfabricated components and products used in the medtech and diagnostics industry.”
In connection with the transaction, JOT Automation’s ownership of Ginolis will increase. This will also result in closer cooperation between the companies.
