Bologna, 15 April 2016 – The fifth edition of Pharmintech, the international exhibition organized by Bologna Fiere dedicated to industrial solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, closed in Bologna. Pharmintech 2016 offered a comprehensive overview of the latest technological innovations in the pharmaceutical, para-pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetic industries. Industry professionals have had the opportunity to learn about the latest news in the field of machinery, automation solutions, materials, packaging, contract manufacturing, clean rooms and instrumentation.
350 exhibitors attended from 30 countries, of which 122 from abroad, 35% of the total. Important the presence of leading companies in the international markets from Germany, Switzerland, the United States and the United Kingdom. Over 100 buyers from 22 countries have been involved in business meetings with exhibiting companies as part of the International Buyer Program, a networking initiative that characterizes the events organized by BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. To increase the internationalization of the event the contribute of UCIMA (automatic machines for the Italian packaging and processing) and ICE, the agency for the promotion of Italian companies abroad, has been very important. They led to Bologna buyers from France, Germany, Singapore, the UAE, Algeria, Brazil, India, Iran, Israel, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, UK, USA, Costa Rica, Colombia, Morocco, Poland, Spain. Pharmintech had the support of the Ministry of Economic Development, as an exhibition of excellence and point of reference in Italy for the sector.
“We are proud to have hosted a high-quality visitation and to have represented the best competitive ability of the entire supply chain with particular reference to the Made in Italy – says Dino Tavazzi, CEO of Pharmintech – visitors were 6,834 of which 18% from abroad (from 58 countries of origin: from Iran, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and Australia). Pharmintech this year joined the 20th edition of Cosmofarma Exhibition, bringing together the entire pharmaceutical sector in Bologna and offering important opportunities for business, study and training during that Pharma Week, April 13 to 17, involving about 800 companies. “
The event was supported by intensive communication, with a major presence in the trade press and a press campaign that led to the collaboration with 30 magazines from 17 countries: in addition to Italy, Brazil, China, United Arab Emirates , Germany, India, Iran, Korea, Morocco, Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Tunisia, Turkey, UK, USA and Switzerland. A delegation of international journalists specialized in the area were also present at Pharmintech, thanks to the support of ICE, with the aim of enhancing global technologies exhibited by the companies present at the fair.
“Pharmintech is not limited to being a major exhibition of very advanced technologies – says Sergio Dompé, President of Pharmintech 2016 – but it represents a virtuous example of cross-sectoral integration, whose best expression is in the pharmaceutical and nutrition sector”.
Many contents emerged during the event. The innovation that characterizes the entire supply chain was the protagonist of the special initiative called “Drug Supply Chain: The Workroom”. Organized by Pharmintech in partnership with ISPE Italy Affiliate and thanks to the support of LifeBee, “The Workroom” has proposed the most innovative solutions in the drug supply chain with great attention to anti-counterfeiting, from secondary production to distribution to the pharmacies, through four paths: the plant and its logistics, control of the Cold Chain, the process of serialization and Track & Trace. The installation has well represented the impact of new technologies on the drug supply chain. In “The Workroom” a series of conferences were held in the three days of the fair, organized by Pharmintech and in collaboration with AFI and ISPE, on the Cold Chain themes and Serialization: “Innovation and Cold Chain”, “Serialization, the voice of Manufacturers” and “Serialization and Track&Trace: Comparing models and experiences”, with the invaluable perspective of Sanofi Pasteur, Lilly, Amec Foster Wheeler, Chiesi Farmaceutici, Alfa Wasserman, Recipharm, Zet – Pharma Logistic Services, Savio Industrial, EMVO. Other workshops have been held by FARMINDUSTRIA, ASIS and IMS Health. The first edition of the Pharmintech Awards honored the most innovative solutions for the supply chain, according to three categories: Academic World, Newco, and Exhibitors of Pharmintech 2016. The winners have been selected by a special jury with AFI, TEFARCO Innova and UCIMA. The award ceremony took place during a private dinner on Wednesday, April 13th, at the Opificio Golinelli in Bologna.
