Dr. Yu is currently the Deputy Director of the Office of Pharmaceutical Quality (OPQ) in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He directs over 1,300 staff involved in new, generic, and biotechnology drug product quality assessment and inspection functions, as well as the laboratories supporting pharmaceutical quality. He is also adjunct Professor of Pharmaceutical Engineering at the University of Michigan.
